History of the Argus Legacy Puck

The Cure Cancer Foundation is incredibly grateful to our generous partners, whose philanthropy makes our work possible. Argus has been a major supporter for many years, consistently giving back to the community since its inception in 1958.

Argus’s History of Philanthropy

Argus supports charities that impact its employees and their families, including the Cure Cancer Foundation, Kids with Cancer, the Make a Wish Foundation, and the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Many Argus employees have been personally affected by cancer.

Argus initiated the “Argus Legacy Puck” program, using its design and manufacturing skills to create keepsakes commemorating donations to worthy causes. Originally intended to celebrate hockey achievements, the Legacy Puck now honours community leaders and charitable efforts in Edmonton.

The pucks have been successfully auctioned off to support multiple myeloma research. The latest Legacy Puck unveiled at this year’s Toast of the Town event, honoured Cal Nichols, a local businessman who twice saved the Edmonton Oilers from leaving the city and has been a supportive community member.

The Legacy Puck serves as a lasting reminder of the pride in supporting cancer research.

Thank you to Argus for your incredible support of cancer research.

A limited number of Legacy Pucks, complete with a photo certificate, are still available for purchase. To own one and support multiple myeloma research, please email Barrie Stafford for more information.
