Giving Tuesday is Almost Here!

Today is Giving Tuesday!

Today is Giving Tuesday!

Please consider extending your generosity to others by donating to the Cure Cancer Foundation.

Cure Cancer Foundation funding has supported cancer breakthroughs in Alberta, such as the groundbreaking Linic MR.  Our funding will also help build new state-of-the-art labs that can produce CAR-T cells here in Alberta.

Or, you can donate in someone else's name, spreading the spirit of giving during the holiday season.

How to Donate to the Cure Cancer Foundation?

You can donate to the Cure Cancer Foundation at any time. We have partnered with the Alberta Cancer Foundation to support CCF priorities, such as funding Dr. Michael Chu's CAR-T Cell Immunotherapy and Dr. John Lewis's prostate cancer research.

CCF finances helped fund the Linic MR, a cancer treatment breakthrough developed right here in Alberta!

What is Immunotherapy?

Cancer is a serious threat. It’s not a comic book villain that a super soldier can easily vanquish. But what if our bodies could be taught to develop super soldier cells capable of destroying cancer? This is what Dr. Michael Chu’s made-in-Alberta immunotherapy program aims to do.

“For cancer to develop, it would have to overwhelm the patient's immune system to begin with,” explains Dr. Chu.

Immunotherapy aims to reinvigorate the immune system into fighting cancer cells again.

The Toast of the Town is back!

This year we will be honouring Cal Nichols, who famously saved the Edmonton Oilers, not once but twice!

With your support, funding will go toward:

  • Developing a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) in-house lab for manufacturing CAR T-cell therapies. This will bring manufacturing closer to the Cross Cancer Institute patients and across Alberta.
  • Developing a comprehensive research lab to support ongoing provincial innovation and cellular therapy clinical trials.
